ABOUT TAZEWELL COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Tazewell County Public Schools (TCPS) is a public school division of the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) serving students in all geographic areas of Tazewell County. The division is comprised of 14 schools, including seven elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools, and one career and technical school serving all high school students. The division has a total enrollment of 4,985 students for the 2024-2025 school year, which Tazewell County Public Schools seeks to serve based on the guiding principles of Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships.

 TCPS has been one of the top-performing academic divisions in the Commonwealth of Virginia ranking 10th in 2023-2024 and 12th in 2022-2023 and 2021 -2022 on Standards of Learning (SOL) assessments.
