Tazewell County Career and Technical Center traveled to Doswell, Virginia, to compete in the Virginia State Fair SkillsUSA Day competitions in September. Dylan Belcher and Dalton Scott Golcher won 1st place in the Masonry competition, and Landon Lucas earned 2nd place in the welding competition. All three students are Graham High School students who attend Tazewell County Career and Technical Center.
Four instructors, Mr. Robert Steele (Masonry), Mr. Shawn Roberts (Carpentry), Mr. James Parnell (Auto Service Technology),and Ms. Katie Lindsey (Welding), accompanied eight students to the state fair competitions. The students in attendance were Dylan Belcher-Masonry, Dalton Scott Golcher-Masonry, Justin Kinder-Carpentry, Dillion Stout-Carpentry, Landon Sizemore-Welding, Landon Lucas-Welding, Thomas Steele-Auto Service, and Nickelas Stacy-Auto Service.

The future is definitely bright for these highly skilled young men.”
Tazewell County Career and Technical Students will set their sights on the next SkillsUSA competitions held at the district level in the spring of 2024.
