Tazewell County Public Schools are committed to providing all children with opportunities to benefit from public education. Special education services are provided to students who meet eligibility criteria in the areas of autism, deaf-blindness, deafness, developmental delay, hearing impairment, intellectual disability, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, emotional disability, specific learning disability, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury or visual impairment including blindness. Special education programs and services are provided as specified in a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Related services, including (but not limited to) occupational therapy, physical therapy, and special transportation, are available to assist eligible students who require such services in order to receive benefits from special education.
